Ronaldo sponsors “deeply worried”, Juve share crashes!

The sponsors are worried, the Juve share crashes on the stock exchange, but soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t let the renewed accusations of rape put him off: the Portuguese European champion will play for Italy’s record champion Juventus Turin in the Serie A points game at Udinese Calcio on Saturday. “He’s doing well, he’s ready,” said Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri on Friday.

On the international stage, however, Ronaldo continues to make himself scarce. The Portuguese national team will have to do without their flagship in the next four games this autumn. This was announced by national coach Fernando Santos on Thursday. Santos did not give any concrete reasons for Ronaldo’s absence. The decision was made after a discussion with Ronaldo and the president of the association, Fernando Gomes.

Ronaldo vehemently denies the renewed accusation made by US American Kathryn Mayorga in 2009. On Monday the police in Las Vegas announced new investigations against the 33-year-old. While a legal aftermath is in the offing in the USA, two prominent sponsors of the five-time world footballer have expressed their concerns.

The US sporting goods giant Nike, which has had an estimated one billion dollar (around 870 million euros) advertising contract with “CR7” since 2016, declared that it was “deeply concerned about the disturbing accusations”. The situation will continue to be “closely monitored,” said a Nike spokesman for the French news agency AFP.

The American video game developer EA Sports also spoke in a statement of a “worrying situation. We expect our ambassadors of the game to behave in a way that fits EA’s values”. Ronaldo, alongside Brazilian Neymar, is the cover figure of the globally successful video game FIFA 19, which was released at the end of September. On the social media channels, the FIFA 19 cover with the current Ronaldo image has already been replaced by a neutral advertising banner. According to EA, this has nothing to do with the accusations, but only with marketing reasons.

The developments around Cristiano Ronaldo have already had a strong impact on the Juventus Turin share. The share certificate fell by almost ten percent to almost 1.19 euros on the Milan Stock Exchange by Friday afternoon.

The value of the share, however, is still far above that of Ronaldo’s immediate commitment to the Champions League winner Real Madrid. Shortly before the announcement of the spectacular transfer, the stock was traded at just under 60 cents. In the wake of the euphoria surrounding the five-time world footballer’s arrival, the share price rose to 1.81 euros in September. Royal Panda is a friendly and good-natured atmosphere online casino.
