Samsung players with XM Satellite and m3 player

samsung_nexus.gifXM Satellite Radio and Samsung today introduced an impressive line of three new portable audio models that combine the content and capabilities of XM and a high quality MP3 player.

The leading product in the Samsung XM product line is the Samsung Helix XM2go player. It stores MP3s, WMA files, and XM content for playback anywhere, anytime. Plus, Helix has a revolutionary feature that lets the user "bookmark" songs heard on XM for online purchase from the XM + Napster service.

"... you can listen to live satellite radio and play MP3s on a single, wearable device," said Hugh Panero, President and CEO of XM Satellite Radio.

The Samsung Helix (MSRP: $399.99) will be available in the first quarter of 2006.

In addition to Helix, Samsung and XM will offer a portable line of XMP3 digital audio players that receive live XM Radio reception when connected to a home docking station or car dock. The Samsung NEXUS players can store XM content, MP3s, and WMAs for portable listening.

The Samsung NEXUS 25 player (MSRP: $199.99) stores up to 25 hours of XM programming, and the Samsung NEXUS 50 (MSRP: $249.99) stores up to 50 hours of XM content. Both will be available in the first quarter of 2006.

Features of the Samsung Helix XM2go:

The Samsung Helix XM2go player weighs approximately 4.5 ounces and
measures approximately 3.7 inches high, 2.2 inches wide, and 0.6 inch deep.

The Samsung Helix features include:

* Live XM Satellite Radio on the go, in the car, or at home
* Flash memory for MP3 files, WMA files, and XM content; Samsung Helix can store up to 50 hours of XM programming.
* Color display screen
* Easy-to-use interface, which lets users save and delete content, create personal playlists, and find and play back their favorite songs
* XM + Napster feature that allows users to bookmark the names of songs heard on XM, connect the Samsung Helix player to the PC, and purchase the bookmarked tracks instantly from the XM + Napster online service.
* The ability to store XM content by song, by channel, or by scheduled session
* Ability to create unique playlists with a mix of XM content and
personal music collection
* Enhanced storage features, which allow more recording sessions at
various times, as well a memory buffer for "catching" the beginning of
a song
* Customizable stock ticker and sports ticker
* Category list for saving and accessing favorite channels
* TuneSelect, which alerts the listener to a favorite artist or song
whenever it is played on any XM channel
* Integrated, wireless FM transmitter for beaming XM to any FM radio
frequency.

The Samsung Helix comes packaged with all of the accessories needed for
portable or home use. An optional car docking station is available separately.

Features of the Samsung NEXUS XMP3 players
The compact Samsung NEXUS XMP3 players weigh approximately 4.4 ounces and
measure approximately 3.4 inches high, 1.8 inches wide, and 0.6 inch deep. The
Samsung NEXUS features include:

* Live XM Satellite Radio when docked in a home or car docking station
* Memory storage for XM content, MP3s, and WMAs for portable listening;
NEXUS 25 stores up to 25 hours of XM content, and NEXUS 50 stores up to
50 hours of XM content
* XM + Napster feature that allows users to bookmark the names of songs heard on XM, connect the Helix player to the PC, and purchase the bookmarked tracks instantly from the XM + Napster online service.
