Sony pushes Walkman MP3 player online

Sony has launched a pan-European online-branding campaign to promote its new Walkman MP3 players and boost sales of other new handheld devices.

It will target style-conscious 18 to 34-year-olds in a push across 14 European markets on entertainment and music sites.

Sony will sponsor a new element of music channel Yahoo! Launch - 'Dig it or Dis it' - in a one-day takeover in the UK, France and Germany on 6 June. In the UK, ads will dominate Yahoo!'s Launchcast service.

The firm is sponsoring a music channel on AOL, whose content will run alongside Sony advertorials, AOL's 'artist of the week' and First View/First Listen.

Media buying was by OMD UK.
